You will notice that many of our skin and hair products contain contains ethically harvested purified Pacific wild bull kelp, or Nereocystis luetkeana. We use a cold process sterile extraction to maintain heat sensitive nutrients.  Unrefined sea kelp extracts are high in C vitamins, group B vitamins and A vitamins, and play a significant role in skin and hair health. This seaweed also has excellent firming and toning effects on the skin, revitalizing skin’s appearance

Juniper Plant

Also known as eastern red cedar, Juniperus virginiana  berries are rich in terpenes such as  limonene (63.1%) and elemol (18.4%). We wild harvest our berries in Ontario, and produce a slow heat glycerin extract for our face creams. Known as PEs or "penetration enhancers" natural terpenes have been found to be the most effective compounds for TDD or "transdermal drug delivery" across the stratum corneum, the outer layer of your epidermis. The enhancing power of limonene enables it to be used as a carrier for other ingredients that are unable to cross the layers of skin and natural oils that form the skin barrier, alone. This means that our premium actives such as niacinamide (B3), marine collagen peptides and silk peptides are get to where they truly make an impact!

lanolin

Lanolin is a natural, animal-derived product harvested from shorn wool. Refined lanolin has been used for more than a hundred of years in ointments as an emollient and is occlusive, meaning it prevents the evaporation of water from the skin (transepidermal water loss). This keeps skin moisturized and helps the skin heal. Because lanolin can hold twice its weight in water. This can plump skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This slow growing lichen-a symbiotic algae and fungus-is occupying a growing body of scientific literature as it concerns dermatological problems with bacteria and yeasts. A promising pharmacological material, lichen is rich in usnic acid, which has demonstrated antimicrobial activity against bacteria, viruses, and protozoa. Additionally, it exhibits anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity.

Like all actives, niacinamide, or vitamin B3, needs an osmolytic substances to deliver it past the outer layers of the skin where it will produce results. At 2.5 to 5% concentration, this vitamin improves skin barrier function, moisturizes, improves the appearance of aged skin, lightens skin, evens skin tone, reduces sebum and enlarged skin pores, antioxidant activity against singlet oxygen.
